Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Foozeato (“Foozeato”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects your information when you use our website at foozeato.in and our mobile application (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information you provide to us

We collect information you give us directly when you use the Service:

  • Account information — your name, email address, password (stored only in hashed form) and, if you sign in by phone, your mobile number.
  • Profile information — your profile photo, short bio and city.
  • Content you post — food photos, captions, stories, comments, likes, reviews and star ratings, saved stalls and any food stalls you suggest.
  • Vendor information — if you register as a vendor, the business and stall details you submit, such as shop name, address, locality, cuisine, menu items, prices and photographs.
  • Communications — messages you send us, for example support requests.

2. Information we collect automatically

  • Device and log data — device model, operating system, app version, IP address, and general diagnostic or crash information.
  • Usage data — the stalls, dishes and categories you view, search terms, and the features you use, so we can improve recommendations and the Service.

3. Location information

With your permission, we collect your approximate or precise device location to show food stalls near you, calculate walking distances, power the "Nearest" sort order and the map view.

You can grant or revoke location access at any time in your device settings. If you deny location access, you can still use the Service, but distance-based and nearby features will be limited or unavailable.

4. Camera and photo library

With your permission, the app accesses your camera and photo library only when you choose to add an image — for example when creating a post or story, writing a review, setting a profile picture or suggesting a stall. We do not access your camera or photos in the background, and we do not scan your photo library.

5. Browsing as a guest

You can browse stalls, cuisines and dishes as a guest without creating an account. In guest mode we do not collect your name, email or phone number. Features that require an identity — posting, reviewing, saving stalls, challenges and rewards — are unavailable until you sign in.

6. How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account, and to authenticate you.
  • To operate core features: discovery, search, maps, saved stalls, posts and reviews.
  • To personalise recommendations, including matching food suggestions to the weather, hunger level and mood you select.
  • To run gamification features such as points, levels, challenges and the leaderboard.
  • To send you service notifications relevant to your activity.
  • To maintain safety, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
  • To respond to your support requests and to comply with legal obligations.

7. Information that is public

Some information is visible to other users by design. Your name, profile photo, level title, posts, photos, captions, comments, likes, reviews and leaderboard position can be seen by anyone using the Service. Please do not post anything you would not want to be publicly visible. You can delete your own posts at any time.

8. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers — hosting, database, image storage and analytics providers who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
  • Google Maps Platform— map, places and geocoding features are provided by Google. Your use of maps is also subject to Google's privacy policy.
  • Other users — the public content described in Section 7.
  • Legal reasons — where required by applicable law, regulation, legal process or an enforceable governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Foozeato, our users or the public.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this Policy continuing to apply.

9. Data retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. Passwords are stored using one-way hashing, data is transmitted over encrypted connections, and authentication tokens are held in your device's secure storage. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your rights and choices

  • Access and correction — view and update your profile details from the app at any time.
  • Deletion — delete individual posts you have created, or delete your account entirely.
  • Permissions — revoke location, camera or photo access from your device settings.
  • Notifications — turn off notifications from your device settings.

To exercise any of these rights, or to request a copy or deletion of your data, write to us at hello@foozeato.in.

12. Children

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 18. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child without such consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

13. Third-party links and services

The Service may link to third-party websites or services that we do not control. This Policy does not apply to them, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review their policies before providing them with information.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and where the changes are significant we will provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.

15. Contact us

If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, contact us at hello@foozeato.in.
